Our experience
Young Contracting
have expertise in all the disciplines required from
the traditional ‘pushfit’ methods
adopted for ductile iron and pvcU to the most modern
automated butt fusion machines used to supply and
install pipe systems to carry water and other fluids.
We have successfully installed replacements of existing
leaking systems by inserting or hydraulically bursting
the old material and dragging new MDPE/HPPE behind
it. This method of renewing old supplies reduces
disruption caused by open excavations, time and money
saved in reinstatement costs. A similar method can
be adopted to install new mains using ‘moles’.
Testing
Young Contracting have adopted the only WRC
approved method for testing MDPE/HPPE water mains,
using data
logging equipment and computerised analysis of the
expansion to the pipe under test. This service and
other logger surveillance applications are offered
to others.
Other services
We offer an ‘under pressure’ drilling
service, and own apparatus to carry out drillings
and tapping for branch services off any material
(ductile iron, steel, cast iron, pvcU/ABS, MDPE)
of sizes ½” to 12”.
Young Contracting own mains finding equipment and
sophisticated ultrasonic leak detection instruments
to accurately pinpoint problems and carry out leakage
control surveillance.
Young Contracting can also carry out chlorination/sterilisation
of mains to BS6700. VIEW
